Traffic Alert: US-41 Lane Closure in Menominee starts Sunday, September 24, 2017

September 21, 2017 -- The northbound lanes of US-41 will be closed in Menominee beginning Sunday, September 24th for emergency road repair work. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, September 28th in the afternoon.

Two lanes of US-41 from Dunkin Donuts to the Nicolet Bank in Menominee are expected to be closed late in the day on Sunday, Sept. 24th. The closure is necessary to repair sinkholes that have developed due to leaks in the sanitary sewer and deterioration of manholes.

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction via a traffic shift. Motorists should expect back-ups in the area. Local traffic is encouraged to find alternate routes. Access will be maintained to all businesses within the work zone; however, the 11th Street intersection will be closed and no left turns will be permitted in the work area in order to minimize congestion and back-ups.

MENOMINEE FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Menominee Fire Department will be conducting fire hydrant flushing to help maintain the water quality and to evaluate the amount of water available for fire fighting purposes.  The flushing will be done South of 11th Avenue including all streets from 1st through 25th.  Flushing will begin Monday, September 18th and continue through Friday, September 29th.  Residents may experience some discoloration of water and possibly lower than normal water pressure.  These conditions do not represent a health hazard.  However, customers are cautioned to determine if their water is clear before washing clothes (or any other process) as staining may occur.  If you experience discolored water, run the cold water in your faucets for approximately 5-10 minutes.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
