The City of Menominee will be accepting capital projects requests from citizens or citizen groups until March 1st. Parties interested in submitting Capital Improvement Budget items may receive forms from the Office of the City Clerk/Treasurer, 2511-10th Street, Menominee MI 49858. Examples of capital items may be building improvements needed for various city parks, facilities, street department equipment, or street construction. Capital projects will then be prioritized by the Planning Commission and submitted to the City Council for potential funding.
REQUEST FOR BIDS
Sealed bids are invited and will be received by the Menominee Police Department for the following used surplus vehicles:
2012 Dodge Charger, VIN# 2C3CDXAT3CH255636, 93000 miles, Hemi V-8, 4 door, as is no warranty. (#70)
2012 Dodge Charger, VIN# 2C3CDXAT5CH255637, 99700 miles, Hemi V-8, 4 door, as is no warranty (#71)
Minimum starting bid for each vehicle is $9500.00
Vehicles are located at the Menominee Police Department for inspection at 2509 10th Street, Menominee, MI 49858. The vehicles will be marked #70 & #71 respectively for identification purposes.
The police department will furnish copies of authorized bid documents to prospective bidders.
Failure to comply with this requirement will disqualify a submitted bid.
All bids must be received by February 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm
The winning bidder will be notified by February 17, 2017
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to make an award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the city
The City of Menominee is seeking responses for a Promoter / Director of the City’s Annual Waterfront Festival. The Festival is held each year at the beginning of August. The promoter / director will be responsible for the entire operation of the Festival Committee’s and volunteers. The City of Menominee announces that there is a change in the hours of operation of the City Recycling Center located next to City Hall behind the Recreation Department at 2515 10th Street. The City has modified the hours of operation in order to provide a more consistent level of staffing. The new hours effective immediately are as follows:

CITY RESIDENTS are reminded that recycling items may be dropped off ONLY when the Recycling Center is open. Further, this location is for recycled materials only. Normal weekly trash collection remains unaffected and the separate collection of all furniture and bulk items is still being performed by Waste Management on a monthly basis.
The yard waste disposal site is also open for the season daily from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. and is located behind City Hall with driveway access from 23rd Avenue. This area is for city residents only and is for disposal of brush, leaves and garden debris only, no other solid waste is allowed at this location.
Additionally, the City is now in the process of regular leaf collection that continues through the fall until the roads are covered with snow.
